THS Yearbook

Students under the direction of Susanna Poma, learn to create and publish the Trenton High School Yearbook.

Yearbook is a hands-on, project-based course in which students serve as the school’s official storytellers and historians. Throughout the year, students learn and apply core skills in journalistic writing, photography, interviewing, and publication design. Members of the yearbook staff work collaboratively to plan coverage, write feature articles and captions, conduct interviews, and capture high-quality photographs of school events, activities, and student life.

In addition to content creation, students learn page layout principles and use professional design software to develop the theme, color palette, fonts, and visual identity of the annual yearbook. Students are also responsible for coordinating, designing, and selling business advertisements and senior recognition ads, learning basic marketing and customer communication skills.

By completing authentic publication deadlines and working together in editorial teams, students build strong communication, time-management, and leadership skills. The course culminates in the publication of the school’s yearbook—a meaningful record of the school community and the students who help create it.
